No Budget Cuts to Protection from Violence! Solidarity with Berlin’s Women’s Shelters!

The Berlin Senate wants to cut funding for protection against gender-based violence – even though there are already hundreds of safe spaces missing. Survivors of violence are turned away every day. And yet they want to make cuts?

Every cut costs lives. Stop femicides!
We say: No cuts to protection from violence – anywhere!

🔧 What we can do to show our solidarity:

📢 We raise awareness
We share information, posts, and protest calls on social media. Violence against FLINTA* must not be made invisible!

✍️ We sign and share petitions
Together we can build political pressure. Every signature strengthens resistance against the cuts.

🧑‍⚖️ We write to elected officials
We demand from Berlin politics: No cuts to protection from violence! Emails and posts also make an impact.

🪧 We take to the streets
We participate in protests and make it clear: Protection from violence is non-negotiable!

💸 We donate where we can
Many women’s shelters (e.g. https://www.frauenhaus-cocon-berlin.de/and https://www.hestia-ev.de/) and counseling centers rely on financial support – especially now.

🫂 We show everyday solidarity
We listen to survivors, believe them, and step in when we witness violence or discrimination.

Note:
FLINTA* stands for Frauen, Lesben, inter, nicht-binäre, trans und agender Personen (Women, Lesbians, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans, and Agender people) – a German acronym often used in queer feminist contexts to refer to people affected by patriarchal violence.
